Nukiangendines A and B,two novel 13,14-seco-abietanes from Abies nukiangensis

From Abies nukiangensis, two novel 13,14-seco-abietane diterpenes, nukiangendines A (1) and B (2) were isolated. Their relative structures were determined by extensive NMR and HRMS spectroscopic analysis. The absolute configuration of 1 was established by ECD calculations. Compound 1 showed significant anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) effects.     

Precise Synthesis of Poly(thioester)s with Diverse Structures by Copolymerization of Cyclic Thioanhydrides and Episulfides Mediated by Organic Ammonium Salts

The precise synthesis of poly(thioester)s with diverse structures is still a significant challenge in the polymeric materials field. Herein, we report a novel approach to the synthesis of well‐defined poly(thioester)s by the controlled alternating copolymerization of cyclic thioanhydrides and episulfides induced by simple organic ammonium salts. Both the cation and anion have strong effects on the copolymerization. [PPN]OAc ([PPN]=bis(triphenylphosphine)iminium) with a bulky cation was proven to be efficient in initiating this polymerization, yielding poly(thioester)s with a completely alternating structure, controlled molecular weight, and narrow polydispersity. The poly(thioester) obtained from succinic thioanhydride and propylene sulfide is a typical semicrystalline material, possessing a high refractive index of up to 1.78. Because it uses readily available monomers, this method is expected to open up a new route to poly(thioester)s with diverse structures and properties.

Approaching the Integer‐Charge Transfer Regime in Molecularly Doped Oligothiophenes by Efficient Decarboxylative Cross‐Coupling

A library of symmetrical linear oligothiophene was prepared employing decarboxylative cross‐coupling reaction as the key transformation. Thiophene potassium carboxylate salts were used as cross‐coupling partners without the need of co‐catalyst, base, or additives. This method demonstrates complete chemoselectivity and is a comprehensive greener approach compared to the existing methods. The modularity of this approach is demonstrated with the preparation of discreet oligothiophenes with up to 10 thiophene repeat units. Symmetrical oligothiophenes are prototypical organic semiconductors where their molecular electrical doping as a function of the chain length can be assessed spectroscopically. An oligothiophene critical length for integer charge transfer was observed to be 10 thiophene units, highlighting the potential use of discrete oligothiophenes as doped conduction or injection layers in organic electronics applications.     

Dynamical analysis of age-structured pertussis model with covert infection

An age-structured pertussis model with covert infection is proposed to understand the effect of covert infection on the recurrence of pertussis. It is found that vaccination only for young children does not have a decisive effect on whooping cough control. It is shown that although the vaccine coverage rate is relatively high, the model has a backward bifurcation for a larger covert infection rate. In addition, sufficient conditions for the disease-free steady state to be globally asymptotically stable are obtained.     

Optimization of an Alkaline Hydrolysis Preparation of Capilliposide-A from Lysimachia capillipes Hemsl. Using Response Surface Methodology Coupled with HPLC-ELSD Analysis

Capilliposide-A, a rare secondary saponin found in Lysimachia capillipes, has been reported to exhibit good biological activities. However, it is difficult to obtain a sufficient of capilliposide-A for further research through column chromatography and chemical synthesis. The aim of this work was to establish an efficient approach for the convenient preparation of this steroid saponin based on alkaline hydrolysis. The hydrolysis conditions were optimized by response surface methodology after a preliminary investigation of the affecting factors by single-factor experiments. Under the optimal conditions, the macroporous resin that adsorbed capilliposide-B and capilliposide-C was hydrolyzed in an 8% (w/v) NaOH solution at 35 °C for 65 h, and the yield of capilliposide-A was 68.90%. The results demonstrated that this newly developed approach is efficient for the preparation of capilliposide-A, and this approach is also crucial for further development and clinical applications.

分子结构设计是开发新化合物和通过原子尺度操纵优化晶体结构的一种引人注目的策略. 在这个工作中, 利用分子工程的思想, 基于SBBO结构, 成功设计并合成两个新型氟碳酸盐KMgLi₂(CO₃)₂F和RbMgLi₂(CO₃)₂F. 在两个结构中, a-b平面是由CO₃和LiO₃F阴离子基团组成的无限[Li₃C₃O₆F₃]_∞层, 进一步相邻的层通过F原子连接形成一个独特的[Li₆C₆O₁₂F₃]_∞双层. 这种结构特征对改善晶体的层状生长习性和消除晶体的多晶性有很大的帮助. 光学测试表明, 该系列晶体具有大的双折射和短的紫外截止边, 是深紫外双折射晶体良好的候选材料.

Remarkable Size Effect on Photophysical and Nonlinear Optical Properties of All-Carboatomic Rings,Cyclo[18]carbon and Its Analogues

Inspired by recent experimental observation of molecular morphology and theoretical predictions of multiple properties of cyclo[18]carbon, we systematically studied the photophysical and nonlinear optical properties of cyclo[2N]carbons (N=3–15) allotropes through density functional theory. This work unveils the unusual optical properties of the sp-hybridized carbon rings with different sizes. The remarkable size dependence of the optical properties of these systems and their underlying nature are profoundly explored, and the relevance between aromaticity and optical properties are highlighted. The extrapolation curves fitted for energy level of frontier molecular orbitals, maximum absorption wavelength, and (hyper)polarizability of considered carbon rings are presented, which can be used to reliably predict corresponding properties for arbitrarily large carbon rings. The findings in this study will facilitate the exploration of potential application of cyclocarbons in the field of optical materials.
